OK not a very witty title but the best I could do.
This run was one of the West Sussex Fun Run Series, although it took place in East Sussex so quite confusing. My club pays for members to enter these races and yet we get very few taking part, usually less than ten. This is in contrast to Burgess Hill Runners who had about 70 runners out and they have to pay. Maybe it's about valuing what you have to pay for. I'm not sure. Who knows!
Dave H came with me again and brought all the family. Ben loved it in the rain seeking out all the puddles and getting as wet as he could in the process. While queuing for the loo (looong queue) had a call to say the Beech Hurst Queen's Birthday Party in the Park that afternoon was cancelled because of the rain. One of those occasions when you are glad not to have to spend the afternoon at a stall talking about running in Haywards Heath, while annoyed that you had bothered to organise a stand with flyers etc when the whole thing was cut at the first sign of rain. What would the Queen herself have thought! Luckily her party on the Mall went ahead.
The race went well, although I wore far too many layers and was quite a bit slower than last year. Dave was pleased with his time. Good atmosphere with lots of juniors running too.

See in the pic above Barry (Tullett) lurking in his hoodie! On the right our great group of new J and M runners who 'graduated' at Clair parkrun the day before. Such a nice group of people. I do hope they carry on running.
