Thank you to everyone who came to support at my final event, Worthing parkrun on Saturday 13th August. A lovely, flat 5k along the seafront on a beautiful sunny morning. Strange coincidence but my very first event, 'Beat the Tide 10k' used the same race venue near the Splashpoint Leisure Centre. Almost, deja vue.
Jane and Julie arranged lots of surprises: bubbly, chocolate cake, fantastic balloons and best of all, lovely people with whom to share event 65.
On the journey down, I had an interview with Radio Sussex (courtesy of my sister, Barbara - thanks sis, but do I mean that?). Fortunately the interview wasn't too scary and it did result in a number of donations to my page from kind strangers so was definitely worthwhile.
Big thank you to all who have donated to my page (some twice!) and I am very grateful to everyone as I have almost reached my £5k target and that is without the Wakehurst Willow proceeds. I appreciated the help in finding events when I got stuck - thanks Verity!
Three runners in particular gave up their time to accompany me, and often drove me, to races: Julie, Carl and Dave. Thank you very much.
I am so grateful to Jaki for asking her friends to donate to Crohn's and Colitis instead of giving her 70th birthday presents. How generous is that!
Thank you to Ian and Tim for their work in organising the Wakehurst Willow 8k and agreeing to support the charity with any proceeds.
I covered 530 miles in total and loved every, single one! Want to see the spreadsheet? Now for a rest...............
