Well lucky I think. How could the beautiful Seven Sisters be anything but?
Julie and I ran or walked, depending on the incline or terrain, the Beachy Head Marathon on Saturday 24th October. The weather was great, mild and very little wind. The views are truly great, the company was perfect - and yet, a slight feeling of disappointment which is hard to explain. Perhaps, it was the increase in entrants making the course quite congested at times as we were in the middle of the pack. I don't know. Maybe too many people taking the event more seriously than we were. Who knows.
Here we are after the race with a marvellous backdrop of the ladies changing room at St Bede's school, the race HQ. Lovely! By the way, the event was very well organised and good value. No complaints there.

Helped at Haywards Heath Junior parkrun the next morning. Based on my great experience in parkrun organisation, I was given the job of timekeeper. Guess what? Oh dear, I lost concentration and missed two runners. Sorry folks! Luckily, the results were OK in the end. Mea culpa. Great to see so many young runners enjoying themselves. Lovely event.
This week I have been trying to sort out event no 14 in my calendar. I was all set to take part in the Foxtrot Five, last race in the West Sussex Fun Run League for 2015, but unfortunately it had to be cancelled. Sadly, the race HQ, the Adur Activity Centre, is in financial difficulties and it can't be used. Today, Thursday, I signed up for an alternative race (don't seem to be any suitable ones in Sussex) which is the Regent's park 10k. That will be an early start for me as the race begins at 9.10 am. Should be interesting as I don't know anyone else doing this event.
