This is a great event. I think I have done it twice before. Once was with my daughter, Jane, and it was then her first half marathon. It is all off road with long sections along the river bank. It also makes good use of the Downslink which follows an old railway line. Sections were very muddy and overgrown - oh did I mention it was pouring with rain for most of the run? Big thank you to the very wet marshals.
I love these low key events, no chip and cheap to enter. Organisation is good and parking is easy. What more could you ask for? I fished in 1.59 and was very surprised to dip under two hours. The pic is of me (looking a touch damp) with fellow harriers, Mike Essex and Peter Cobbett. Other runners from the club were there including the elusive Stuart Austin. Will he be there for all 65 events?
Please note my race number! What a happy coincidence. If only I could have that number for every race and be placed 65th in all my parkruns? I'll work on it. xx
