January 23rd (bump's due date) and January 24th and two doses of glorious mud. Saturday was the Sussex County Masters XC event. This sounds very important and scary, but sadly there were only 69 women taking part on the hilly Lancing course. We (Harriers) were missing our faster females, not the case for the men as Paul Cousins won a silver medal. Nevertheless, Kath Buckeridge (the tall one in the pic)ran very well and came half-way down the field. I came 60th, Shame I can't run downhill.
Pic also shows Michelle Pearce and Clare Kenward.

The next day, Sunday, and it was back on the M25 to Tadworth Ten territory (try saying that quickly) with Carl and a great offroad 10k called the Vale Gallop. It was very undulating and muddy, but not as tricky as the four miles the day before. Lovely atmosphere too.
I finished in over an hour but somehow won the second super vet prize (a horseshoe, how fitting). See Carl and I below. Can't tell you how grateful I am to Carl for helping me to complete my 65. He is so generous in every way and lovely company. Thank you Carl!
